The End of an Era
Fans Mourn Beloved Cubs Legend
Cubs Fan Report
We've heard that we shouldn't be surprised about Ron Santo's passing — he was 70, after all, and had lost part of both legs to diabetes. Yet we were still shocked, and from the reactions we're seeing, we're not alone. There are so many great memories and tributes that we're just going to list some of our favorites — we laughed and cried while putting this together. And we don't want to wallow in sorrow here, but the injustice of Ronnie never seeing the Cubs win it all, or never getting that call from Cooperstown... well, it's pretty damn sad. R.I.P, Ron. We swear we'll get there one of these days. And we'll all think of you.

"I remember Ronnie hitting a homer to win the game in extra innings against the Mets in 1965 when I was 10 years old. I was a lifelong fan after that. God bless you, Ronnie. May you rest in peace."
